Frequently asked questions

How does Secret 7” work?

7 iconic tracks are pressed 100 times onto 7” vinyl.

Artists from around the world contribute unique sleeve designs for the 700 records.

These one-of-a-kind collectibles are exhibited at London's NOW Gallery and are available to purchase via an online auction.

The artist and track identities? A mystery until the record is in the hands of the buyer.

From 2012 to 2021, Secret 7” raised over £500K for good causes. Now, War Child are reimagining the event to provide essential aid, education and support to children and families affected by conflict.

What does War Child do?

We work in some of the hardest to reach places to support those who are hardest hit. We aim to reach children as quickly as possible when conflict breaks out and stay long after the cameras have gone to support them through their recovery.

We work with local communities and governments to help protect and educate children, and support them to heal and learn, for a safer, brighter future.

We understand children’s needs, respect and stand up for their rights, and put them at the centre of everything we do – because one child caught up in conflict is one child too many.

Every day, our local teams are in communities and in refugee camps creating safe spaces for children to play, learn and access psychological support, and we specialise in responding rapidly to emergency crisis situations to deliver immediate and critical care to help to those who need us most, when they need us most.

At War Child, we will never give up on children affected by conflict.

How do I submit artwork?

Submissions for Secret 7" 2023 are now closed.

You will find out whether you have been successful or not in February 2024. If your artwork is successful, you MUST keep it a secret until after the auction has closed.

All selected artworks will be included in an exhibition at NOW gallery in March 2024, and auctioned to raise vital funds for War Child’s work.

How the auction works

There are 2 different auctions taking place on Peggy:
 1. The 700 sleeves (Closing on the 17th March)
 2. The exclusive turntables (Closing on the 24th March)

Peggy's unqiue 'popcorning' technology means that the end time for each sleeve will be staggered by one minute starting at 001 at 10AM GMT on the 17th March, ending at 10PM GMT. However, if someone bids during that one minute window, the timer will be reset to 60 seconds!

This allows you to keep bidding on your favorite sleeve, and ensure you secure it as yours! The end time of sleeves will only be extended if someone bids on it, so keep your eyes peeled on Peggy.

How much is shipping?

The Secret 7" auction offers flat rate shipping, which applies per item so they can be shipped individually. This is required for tracking and duties purposes. You'll see actual shipping costs to your location when placing a bid for the artwork:

  • USD 7 for the United Kingdom
  • USD 13 for EU countries
  • USD 20 for the rest of the world

I want to get involved but I don’t want to submit artwork – what can I do?
